"Oh the days dwindle down
to a precious few------"
the song goes, and the
throes of old age creep deeply
into our bodies and minds,
and all kinds of thoughts,
great to grotesque,
fill our waning hours, days,
years remaining.
Then let us sing this September;
let our songs express our longings,
remembrances sweet and not so sweet,
but all tried and true,
by me and you.
